Jana Shelfer:

Are you ready to create a life you crave? Let's spin that doom loop of negativity into an upward success cycle and start Living Lucky®.

Jana Shelfer:

Good morning.

Jana Shelfer:

I'm Jana, I'm Jason and we are Living Lucky®. You are too.

Jana Shelfer:

Energy is contagious hell yeah, I say this all the time and when we're aware of it, it can be a very powerful tool very powerful because when it's contagious in a positive way, it's great for everyone. Right, it's an amplifier.

Jason Shelfer:

It's an amplifier exponential amplifier, but when it's, when it's when you're aware of it or not, especially when you're not aware of it, and it's negative energy that will take you down the shitter, it can go the other way it can take you down.

Jana Shelfer:

And all of a sudden you're like why do I feel like I'm in this funk? Oh, because I've been hanging out with Phil Funky Phil.

Jason Shelfer:

Funky cold Phil. That just gave me goosebumps Really, because there's sometimes when you don't realize you're like what is that holding me back? Yes, and it's that energy of the people that are naysaying and the energy sucks in your life.

Jana Shelfer:

And it's not only people I mean we get energy.

Jason Shelfer:

Oh yeah, the things we do, the things we say yes to energy from objects in our house.

Jana Shelfer:

We get energy from circumstances, emotions that we have. We get on these emotional loops.

Jason Shelfer:

From clutter and that provides yes. As soon as you said the things in our house like, it made me think of having the people that came in and did like a four-hour power clean here.

Jana Shelfer:

Okay, so you're getting ahead of me. Okay, follow the leader here.

Jason Shelfer:

Follow the leader.

Jana Shelfer:

So let me just tell you, Jason woke up this morning and he's got this amplified-.

Jana Shelfer:

Zest.

Jana Shelfer:

Zest for life. He gets up, he goes for a bike ride this morning.

Jason Shelfer:

Haven't been on a bike ride in over a year.

Jana Shelfer:

He's like I feel so great, I feel awesome.

Jason Shelfer:

My legs are like hell.

Jana Shelfer:

We danced for two hours yesterday. We were making him get on the floor and do stunts, things that he's never done before.

Jason Shelfer:

My body was spent yesterday.

Jana Shelfer:

And everyone on the sidelines. They were like I'm so worried about Jason.

Jason Shelfer:

I was worried about me.

Jana Shelfer:

You were sweating from head to toe.

Jason Shelfer:

My body hurt. I was laying on the floor and I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to drive us home.

Jana Shelfer:

Yeah, we were. We were brainstorming new lifts so literally they were like can Jason get on the floor and Jana, can you ramp off of him?

Jason Shelfer:

My knees still hurt Like they're bruised. My knees are bruised from being on the floor and some of the things that we were doing.

Jana Shelfer:

So what was so crazy, though, is this morning you just had this amplified energy.

Jason Shelfer:

I know I was up before 4 am. I got out of bed before five. Yes, and I've been rocking and rolling. No, and I'm loving it.

Jana Shelfer:

I turn over to do my meditation and Jason says we're going to go skiing and get a podcast done before six o'clock and I'm like it's dark outside, honey.

Jason Shelfer:

We're going to wake up the sun.

Jana Shelfer:

You were let's go get it up. You were Tony Robbins. That's right, you were on that level of motivation.

Jason Shelfer:

And I still feel it Like I feel there's this energy inside of me right now that doesn't know what to do and I just need to put a direction on it.

Jana Shelfer:

Now, how do we utilize that as a team? Yeah, not only how do we utilize that. I want to know what was the key ingredient of how to get you here, to know what was the key ingredient of how to get you here. So part of being married is sometimes you want to know the combinations of what makes your husband tick. I like this version of Jason because it makes me feel alive. It makes me want to get up and do things. It makes me want to get up and do things, yeah.

Jason Shelfer:

It makes me want to match your energy.

Jana Shelfer:

Because energy is contagious. Energy is contagious, so I want to crack the code per se.

Jason Shelfer:

And I would say there's a combination to it, like there are several things that I felt and when we had this, we had a brief conversation at the breakfast table about this yes, and part of it was the cleanliness of the house, like waking up and just zero clutter. Everything is spotless.

Jana Shelfer:

So we had a cleaning crew come in, yeah, like a team. And they did one of those move in, move out cleans. Not that we're moving anywhere, but they literally moved all of our furniture and they cleaned the nooks and crannies of our house.

Jason Shelfer:

They put little stickers on the toilet paper with all these little like bows and butterflies and flowers.

Jana Shelfer:

They tied our paper towels into bows. Yeah, we made our paper towels into bows. Yeah, and I happened to mention that maybe there was some grease behind I accidentally said the oven, I meant the stove Like there's some grease behind the stove. If you could get that, that would be great. Next thing I know she's like she has her head in our oven and she's scrubbing. She scrubbed our microwave. I'm like, oh my gosh, that hasn't been scrubbed since we moved in.

Jason Shelfer:

We're not filthy, I know.

Jana Shelfer:

I know, but you know how many times do you get down and scrub your microwave?

Jason Shelfer:

Right, true. So there's that aspect of it. The other thing is I had three doctor's appointments yesterday. Three, okay, so and amazing bill of health on all of them so that's a.

Jason Shelfer:

It's like some of the things I was worried about. I had a blood clot in my leg and I was like, okay, when will that be resolved? Yes, and totally resolved. And not only was it resolved, but the doctor said a lot of times when there's a blood clot, there's a scar from the blood clot. So you can see that it was there and it's resolved and they're like not even a scar like so, so well managed and taken care of. That it's.

Jana Shelfer:

It's completely gone, so there's some dopamine there. There's some dopamine of. We've been doing the right things. Yes, now, that didn't happen just yesterday. That is a culmination of the last three months since. February of eating right, getting a little more exercise and taking your medicine and just making sure that you're treating your body correctly.

Jason Shelfer:

Absolutely.

Jana Shelfer:

Yeah, and then I think that's an attaboy moment which makes you feel good and gives you energy.

Jason Shelfer:

And then there's this, some of the goals that we've set to go forward. So we've got three ski tournaments coming up.

Jana Shelfer:

Which we actually sat down and we entered, so they are not just goals in our head.

Jason Shelfer:

They're in the calendar.

Jana Shelfer:

They are on the calendar and once you pay money for them, they're real. Which I have found is very important, Once there is a financial exchange and I know that people are like oh well, Jana, money doesn't matter, it does it does.

Jason Shelfer:

When you want change in your life, you need to invest change in your life.

Jana Shelfer:

Yes, and I find this time and time again when Jason works with his clients. A lot of times the people who really really need help are at a point in their life where they say, oh my gosh, I really can't afford life coaching.

Jason Shelfer:

I can't afford it and I can't afford not to.

Jana Shelfer:

And that's the point where we have to say you know what? The minute that you put money into yourself is the minute that you will take it serious.

Jason Shelfer:

You will take it serious, you change energetically.

Jana Shelfer:

You change your thoughts, you change your feelings about everything that you're doing. All of a sudden, it becomes a serious project that you are investing in, because the truth is, your coach doesn't change you.

Jason Shelfer:

The coach holds the space for you to change. Yes, and you showing up and saying I'm worth it, that's you saying I'm investing in myself right now and I'm going to go to that space and I'm going to create that change for myself and it's a massive thing. So the three tournaments that we signed up for, and then also knowing that we're going to Colorado, and that's like a, there's a we're not going to Colorado until July, right, but that's another. That's another thing that is on the calendar. We have got the tickets, we have got it, it's scheduled and I love being around the mountains. I love that the, the crisp air of Colorado, like I like the travel aspect of it. So there's another anticipation factor there. So I've got. So that's another energy amplifier.

Jana Shelfer:

So for Jason there's, it's almost like getting excited for Christmas, when you're little, there's this planning, which is why sometimes it's important to plan vacations in advance. And when, a lot of times, if you're like me, you're like you know what I don't have the energy to plan, just plan it for me and I'll show up.

Jason Shelfer:

And I hate surprises.

Jana Shelfer:

That's how I am.

Jason Shelfer:

However, I'm depriving myself of that anticipation that dopamine of anticipation and building up of oh my gosh, we're going to do the things that I planned and hit these goals.

Jana Shelfer:

And there's energy there, yes, so all of these things provide just a little juice.

Jason Shelfer:

And it's a story that we're telling ourselves. So a lot of things that I'm recognizing again. So we know these things, Like the story I was telling myself about the blood clot. I was like, oh no, I've got a blood clot, Not okay, there's something I can change, there's something I can grow into, there's some tweaks that I can make to live healthier, Right, Right. But instead of initially I was like oh crap.

Jana Shelfer:

Most people are Most people are, Instead of saying what is this teaching me? Oh, this is teaching me. It's almost a wake-up call.

Jason Shelfer:

Yeah, that initial oh crap and the story that I was telling, that story I told myself for the first couple of days was an energy drainer, that was an energy suck, and then, as I was growing and getting better To the point where you were almost a I was a and getting better To the point where you were almost a.

Jana Shelfer:

I was a victim. Yeah, you were.

Jason Shelfer:

I was a victim of the clot.

Jana Shelfer:

Yeah, because we were in Ocahele when all of this was happening.

Jason Shelfer:

Let me get my compression sock on.

Jana Shelfer:

You were in pain, let me lift it up. There was pain.

Jason Shelfer:

There was a lot going on.

Jana Shelfer:

Yeah, so when you're in pain and it's hard to get out of, it when you're in it.

Jason Shelfer:

It's hard to get out of the muck when all you're feeling is the muck, when you're in physical pain, it's hard to see what's really happening, but yes. But we got above it. We did and that's the beauty of it and then, as we continue to rise above it, then we were able to change the story and the energy changed around it.

Jana Shelfer:

Energy. Energy is contagious. Energy changed around it. Energy, energy is contagious and once you're aware of this, it becomes such a powerful tool because we actually can control our own energy and we can shield ourselves from what is working and open the door to, or we can shield ourselves from what is not working and open the door to what is working.

Jason Shelfer:

That's so big and that is the distinction is saying, okay, what isn't working, and how do I shield myself from that? How do I set those boundaries and how do I open the door and welcome what's working into my life and how do I get the people around me, the community, into creating that amplified energy to lift me higher and higher and higher?

Jana Shelfer:

Now we could end right there, and I mean, this has been a lot to absorb in itself, right. However, I wanna take it one step further, because I just want everyone that's listening to this to start thinking, because we get into these emotional loops, and so if you are stuck in an energy that you're like gosh, I feel like I'm creating the same life problems over and over, and as soon as I solve it, I create the same problem in just a different area of my life Then you're probably addicted to that energy. That energy is serving you somehow. Yep, would you agree with that?

Jason Shelfer:

Yes, so what are you emotionally addicted to?

Jana Shelfer:

Yes, and I have realized this in my life. So there's something about when I have aches and pains, I give myself permission to lay on the couch under my heating blanket, where it's like a safe space for me. I don't have to space for me, I don't have to deal cope, I can just kind of be in my little safe space your cocoon, yes, and in that cocoon, even though I'm telling myself, oh, my bones hurt and I'm having these ailments when I'm in that place, then I don't have to worry about, oh, I'm facing rejection, or I'm facing failure in some way, or I'm facing criticism that I don't want to face, or I'm having to manage other people's personalities or expectations. So for me, I've realized that there is an energy that I am addicted to that isn't always serving me in the highest purpose, the highest level of yourself.

Jason Shelfer:

True.

Jana Shelfer:

Yes, and we all have it. We all have that.

Jason Shelfer:

So the question is what feeling do we keep creating and how is our nervous system seeking that familiarity?

Jana Shelfer:

Our nervous system. It's not only familiarity, it's almost addiction. Yes, we become addicted to it.

Jason Shelfer:

It's a comfort level.

Jana Shelfer:

It is.

Jason Shelfer:

It's. How is our nervous system seeking that comfort?

Jana Shelfer:

It is nervous system seeking that comfort. It is, and you know, I look back. I feel like I kind of liked being sick when I was little.

Jana Shelfer:

Because I got to stay in bed.

Jana Shelfer:

I didn't have to go to school. I got a lot of attention. I got to watch soap operas.

Jason Shelfer:

I got some ice cream. I did Right yeah.

Jana Shelfer:

And I'm wondering if there's like something there like deep in my psyche.

Jason Shelfer:

And as the best version of myself. How would I like to feel, and what does that look like for me?

Jana Shelfer:

Okay, so let's just recap real quickly. Energy is contagious and we have the power to choose which energies we are susceptible to and which energies we are giving to others, creating, yes, ah, so big. Ah, thanks for joining us. Keep Living Lucky®.
