Are you ready to create a life you crave? Let's spin that doom loop of negativity into an upward success cycle and start Living Lucky®. Good morning. I'm Jana, I'm Jason and we are Living Lucky®. You are too In 2025.
Jason Shelfer:That's right, it's a new year.
Jana Shelfer:What were you going to say?
Jason Shelfer:I was going to go, got a lot to do. I know what to do.
Jana Shelfer:I don't know the song.
Jason Shelfer:I don't know the song either.
Jana Shelfer:Teach it to me. Get on the floor.
Jason Shelfer:You know what to do?
Jana Shelfer:What are you singing? There's a song. I don't know the song. Nobody knows the song.
Jason Shelfer:Somebody.
Jana Shelfer:What are you singing? There's a song I don't know the song.
Jason Shelfer:Nobody knows the song. Somebody knows the song?
Jana Shelfer:Somebody. Is it a real song?
Jason Shelfer:or did you just make it up right now? Get on the floor.
Jana Shelfer:You know what to do In 2025?.
Jason Shelfer:No, well, it's an old song, it's like from the 80s.
Jana Shelfer:But what made you sing that right now I?
Jason Shelfer:feel like I'm excited about moving forward. I'm excited about some which makes you want to get on the floor. It makes me want to dance.
Jana Shelfer:Yeah, okay, there, I see where you're going. See, I just needed you to tell me Get on the floor, the dance floor.
Jason Shelfer:That's right, baby. I thought you meant like get on the ground, lay down and give up. That doesn't happen until Friday.
Jana Shelfer:All right, we're talking about just getting clear with where you're going in life. We're not even going to use the word New Year's resolutions.
Jason Shelfer:That's right. There's no sense in waiting for it.
Jana Shelfer:We're going to just talk about clarity with our life direction, and you asked me two questions before we started this and I just want to share this with everyone in the world because I thought they were so profound.
Jason Shelfer:Yeah, and there are two questions that I got to really experiment with and play with last year, and the first one is when we're setting a goal or setting something that we really want, then ask ourselves, okay, what would I feel like and what would my life experience be if I never got that? Okay, because if you set a goal and it's like nothing would really change, like I'm not a new person if I achieve this or if I'm not, there's no really deep feeling about what's going on. If I achieve this goal or if I obtain whatever this is I'm trying to obtain, then it's not a powerful or congruent goal, like there's, like you have to know that there's a deep why behind something and when you move towards it.
Jana Shelfer:Well, sometimes, though I'm just going to interject because, like, I have had a couple of dreams, and I'll just use one in particular I've always wanted my own TV show, and this 2024, I was offered a show and I moved in that direction and once again, it was derailed. It has been derailed and there's something inside. I mean this is not the first time I've tried a TV show. I mean I'm probably now I've tried this probably seven or eight times with a really really. I mean probably three of those times were was a real attempt.
Jason Shelfer:A real attempt. Attachment, investment time, energy, a lot.
Jana Shelfer:And every time that for some reason it either just doesn't work out, there's something in my soul that dies a little.
Jason Shelfer:I hear you, I've been here with you through it. And then one of the other questions.
Jana Shelfer:So before you move on to the question so when you say am I okay with this not happening at this point in my life, I feel like the only healthy thing to do for my soul just my soul, my spirit, my heart, my inner self is to let go of the outcome and say you know what, If it doesn't happen, it's okay.
Jana Shelfer:And so in a lot of these things that and that doesn't mean that I'm giving up, right, or it doesn't mean that I'm quitting. It just means, you know what? I have a beautiful life. And if that never happens, if that's not God's will for me, then I'm okay.
Jason Shelfer:And most of these situations have come with the network going defunct, the producers moving out of town. I mean, there's been other outside causes of this. So the second question is how would I feel if I never tried this? So the second question is is how?
Jana Shelfer:would I feel if I never tried, and that is one of those things where that leads to regret is what you're saying.
Jason Shelfer:There's an underlying territory of regret and we can always look at rejection or when it doesn't come out like it doesn't turn out the way we want. We talk about that a lot, but we can always say a rejection is just redirection, or it can just be like it's not the right time and place. And if it was the right time and place, everything would have filled in perfectly.
Jana Shelfer:I feel like there was a little light bulb there.
Jason Shelfer:What did you say?
Jana Shelfer:Direction is Rejection is just a possible redirection. Rejection is a redirection. Jason, that is very profound. I don't know if you just made that up right now or if you've heard that before or if you're just into. Well, I think of it kind of like.
Jason Shelfer:A lot of times Rick is like this is going to be a weird story, but I'm a metaphor'm. I'm a metaphor guy and I'm an analogy guy.
Jason Shelfer:Sometimes you need me to connect the dots of where your metaphor actually relates to what we're talking about. But I was shot in the hand when I was like nine or 10 years old With what? With a pellet gun, but a very high powered pellet gun, where the the pellet went into the bone of my hand, okay, and it happened because of a ricochet. So I think about like a rejection being a redirection, like sometimes we don't hit the target, we get ricocheted into something else and it's just allowing for that space and hey, maybe this is better, and then it can still lead us back. You know, it's like a that is so good.
Jana Shelfer:That is so good. It's like when I first started down this path, my coach, kane Minkus, our coach he said don't be afraid to pick a door, because you pick one door and it will lead you to three more doors.
Jason Shelfer:Get used to picking doors.
Jana Shelfer:And there are no wrong doors. There are no wrong doors because you go through the door and it will lead you to three more doors and, like you just said, it may lead you back to another opportunity of the first intention, yeah, and I think too many times we get caught up in the not trying Because we don't want to make a mistake, right, we don't want to fuck up.
Jana Shelfer:Excuse my language, but there's something in the back of, I know, in my subconscious mind of oh my God, I don't want to fuck up my life.
Jason Shelfer:I know of. Oh my God, I don't want to fuck up my life. I know so many of my clients are in that space of time where they've invested a lot of their life in what they've been doing.
Jana Shelfer:Yes, and they weren't, so there's this and there's. So you already have so much invested that you're like, oh my gosh, if I pivot now-.
Jason Shelfer:I can't afford to waste any more time.
Jason Shelfer:Yes, I mean, there's all these limiting beliefs, that's the thought that almost all of them have is I can't afford to waste any more time Now. One of the other parts of that is a lot of these people have been climbing mountains or doing things that they thought were getting them to where they wanted to be, yes, but their soul was dying on the inside. It's like they were giving all their energy and attention to their job or something outside thinking that was leading them to happiness, to enjoyment, to fulfillment, and they were just waiting for the day when they felt it. And then they got to a point where they, like I can't keep doing what I've been doing. It's not quote unquote sustainable for my well-being.
Jana Shelfer:Yeah. And then they we all have a threshold and then they sit we all have this moment where it's outside of our temperature zone.
Jana Shelfer:Yes, right, our comfort zone.
Jana Shelfer:Where it's like okay, I can't stands no more, it's Popeye.
Jana Shelfer:I stands enough and I can't stands no more. Is that what he says?
Jason Shelfer:Something like that. That's funny to me because I forgot about that.
Jana Shelfer:I always think of Popeye as I eat my spinach yeah, no, strong, to the finish. He literally says I can't stands no more. Yeah.
Jason Shelfer:I've seen enough to know that I can't see anymore or something like that, yeah. So we get to that point and we're like, okay, something has to change. But then we're scared to make a change because we feel like the rest of it's wasted and, just like you were saying, there's always another door. So it's not wasted, it's learned experience and we're starting from a new level of understanding and also a new level of awareness of I wasn't climbing the right mountain, I wasn't climbing the right ladder to success.
Jason Shelfer:However you want to look at that?
Jana Shelfer:So let's recap real quickly the questions that we need to ask ourselves as we start off 2025 are the first one is this goal that I'm setting.
Jason Shelfer:How will I feel when I achieve that goal? How will I feel when I achieve that goal? Like what? Who will I be when I achieve that goal? And if it, if it isn't a big change, then I would I would almost say, let it go Right.
Jana Shelfer:Let it go. Let it go.
Jason Shelfer:It's not changing you anymore. Those are not those are not the words Um? And the second one is is who?
Jana Shelfer:would I get on the floor. Get on the floor, you know what?
Jason Shelfer:to do Nobody knows that song. Nobody knows that song but me. It's in my head, it's like a songworm. The second one is is how would I feel or who would I be if I, if I know that I wanted this and I never tried?
Jana Shelfer:Okay and I just want to. I just want to kind of maybe clarify a little bit, because we're using the word goal and we're saying to start off 2025, if you've listened to Jason and I in the past, you know that we don't actually believe in new year's resolutions. I said I wasn't going to use that word. We believe in just knowing your life destiny.
Jason Shelfer:Yeah, get clear about what you want and when you have those little insights, take advantage of them at the time.
Jana Shelfer:However, january sometimes seems to be almost a reminder to look at where we're going or to measure are we getting there?
Jason Shelfer:It's just like birthdays the new year on the calendar is a measuring point that says am I progressing through life the way I hoped I would be?
Jana Shelfer:Okay, so the second question, just to recap, was how would I feel if I never tried? How would I feel if I never tried? And that my friend says it all to me? That question right there speaks to my soul so deeply because I want to get to the end of my life with my song. Sung is how I believe you want to know that you were in the arena?
Jason Shelfer:Yes, and you're not going to be in the arena if you don't try.
Jana Shelfer:Wayne Dyer says I don't want to die with a song still inside me without letting it fly.
Jason Shelfer:Let it go. Yeah, let it sing it Not let it go, but let it grow.
Jana Shelfer:Sing it, let it grow, unleash it.
Jason Shelfer:Let it grow, that's right.
Jana Shelfer:All right.
Jason Shelfer:You can always tune in Monday, wednesday and.
Jana Shelfer:Friday for more of Jason singing.
Jana Shelfer:And you will definitely be Living Lucky®.
Jason Shelfer:This is called karaoke mindset.
Jana Shelfer:That's right. Love you guys. Thanks for joining us. We'll see you next time. Bye-bye. If the idea of Living Lucky® appeals to you, visit us at www. LivingLucky. com.
