Do you find yourself stressing about all the things that you don't even have control over? When we try to control.. we are placing unreasonable expectations on people and the world around us because the expectations are unexpressed expectations. We envision how we WANT something to go from a singular perspective and then expect all the pieces to just fall into place. It gets frustrating when expectations are consistently not met. You end up wanting to fire everyone around you and then fire life.
If people are consistently falling short of your expectations, it may be time to decide if you need to work on YOUR communication skills. As the person with the expectations and being adversely affected by the unmet expectations, you should take 100% responsibility for the delivery of expectations and the understanding to the point they can be communicated back to you to your satisfaction.
Just tell 2 people to alternate folding a piece of paper and tearing it in a specific corner (top left, etc) after a few folds and tears, open both pieces and see how different they look. Translation of expectations is an issue.
